Emerald Ash Borer (EAB): Invasive Tree Killer

The emerald ash borer (EAB) is an invasive beetle responsible for killing tens of millions of ash trees across the U.S. and Canada. Once it infests a tree, it bores into the trunk and disrupts the flow of water and nutrients. So far, no trees in Minnesota can resist EAB, so an infestation is fatal if untreated.
